I was built at a time when optimism was high and outlook was bright. The toy manufacturer and his family lived several happy years with me, hosting many parties and business meetings. Lasting into the night, while over the lake the moon sparkled droplets on the waters surface Spanish moss swayed in the cypress. They left, as all families do, whence a realtor found respite within my walls. Calling me home, it was more of the same, only different. Through the upheaval of the late 60s and early 70s I retained my “outdated” gentility and remained true to my architect and builder’s vision. The latter part of the decade brought disco and the promise of continued progress conquering uncharted territories. Many of my neighboring homes still sheltered the original laborers of the fledgeling engineering and aerospace technologies, and to me also came the former. Daily commutes could only be rewarded by a welcome home to my 3 car garage and homey kitchen. With a fire in my hearth and packages on the floor, a toy train circled trees after trees and these would sparkle through the windows facing my front lawn. Holidays and parties were in order, I continued to host with grace and friendly charm. These were all happy times and I was cared for with adoring diligence. Four decades could only bring an inevitable reevaluation and I knew this chapter would end. Here we are and, I need some love as most things worthwhile do. I still offer the strength of carefully chosen materials and the care in which they were assembled. I’ll harbor you, my promise. See me with open eyes and open heart, you’ll be not surprised. See my brothers and sisters of the Isle, we’re part of the same dynamic neighborhood that was built and engineered in the purpose of community and recreation. The lifeblood of our home is spring-fed Clear Lake, headwaters to the Florida Everglades. As sure as the waters flow there are many happy days to be seen and I’m here for you.
